Introduction

AI in operations and supply chain optimizes efficiency by leveraging machine learning for predictive logistics, demand-driven inventory management, and intelligent process automation. Key applications include forecasting disruptions, reducing stockouts, automating routine tasks, and improving delivery speed. These technologies enhance resilience, accuracy, and profitability across the entire supply chain network. 

AI in Operations & Supply Chain covers leveraging machine learning, predictive analytics, and automation to optimize logistics, inventory, and processes. Key topics include AI-driven demand forecasting, route optimization, warehouse robotics (AGVs), predictive maintenance, RPA for procurement, and real-time visibility. The curriculum spans from foundational AI to advanced, data-driven decision-making. 

AI in Operations and Supply Chain Management is designed to transition traditional, reactive workflows into intelligent, data-driven systems.

Course Contents

Module One: Predictive Logistics & Transportation 

• Route & Fleet Optimization: Using machine learning for real-time traffic analysis, dynamic route planning, and fuel-efficient scheduling.
• Last-Mile Delivery: Implementing AI to manage the unpredictability of urban zones, drones, and autonomous vehicles.
• Network Planning: Utilizing predictive analytics to identify potential bottlenecks and disruptions before they occur. 

Module Two: Inventory AI & Demand Forecasting 

• Advanced Forecasting: Applying time-series models (like LSTMs or Transformers) to historical sales, weather, and market trends for higher accuracy.
• Smart Inventory Control: Automating replenishment decisions, managing dynamic safety stock, and reducing overstock/understock risks.
• Multi-Warehouse Coordination: Centrally balancing stock levels across multiple locations to ensure availability. 

Module Three: Process Automation & Warehouse Management

• Warehouse Robotics: Integrating AI with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for sorting, picking, and packing.
• Computer Vision: Using high-tech cameras for automated quality control, defect detection, and real-time shelf monitoring.
• Administrative Automation: Leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) for automated invoice processing, contract reviews, and supplier communications. 

Module Four: Strategic & Ethical Frameworks

• Risk Management: Developing AI-driven “Control Towers” for end-to-end visibility and real-time risk mitigation.
• Digital Twins: Creating virtual simulations of supply chain operations to test “what-if” scenarios without operational risk.
